A Picknick is a wonderful way to get together, with family, friends or a loved one. The smell of freshly cut grass, the sound of a bird in the distance, ants on the baguette, wasps in the wine. During the Picknick exhibition in Kadmium you are not surrounded by a wide landscape, no, you are surrounded by ceramic works of art. Not as sterile works of art but more as conversation pieces, the decor pieces of an imagined idyll.
The Picknick exhibition is not a traditional exhibition, it is more of an experience. An experience that may bring back nostalgic memories of spring days years ago. French cheeses, a light rosé buzz, warm lips on your neck. Or perhaps a rainy afternoon with wet, clammy sandwiches.
The artists in Picknick all have their own artistic identity. From roughly sculpted, sturdy works to delicately painted Delft blue. We drink from handmade mugs, the beer flows freely from jugs made by the artists. Fresh fruit on hand-painted bowls. A picnic on the earth, the clay, where we converse about art and life and celebrate peace during turbulent times.
